asgard tournaments

Overview

As planned from day one, Åsgard events are a big part of our clan which is possibly the reason for having such a consistent activity record in the community. Although recent months has seen slight improvement in our competition (As i understand rival clans such as TDM and GoD have started their own clan tournaments), if you're a player who wants to play competively in Pop:Re then Åsgard is the clan you should definately desire a place in.

Tournament Leaderboard Explained

Åsgard tournaments are a mixture of various 1v1 / 2v2 'simple' brackets, some involving a knockout-from-word-go system and more recent ones using a double elimination format. (After the success of Ragnj's own tournaments for the whole community). Other tournaments include unique and unusual layouts, and some aren't based around winning competitive matches against clanmates at all. (For example the 'Point Whore' competitions, or the 'Screenshot Challenge'). Longer term tournaments are also featured regularly, most based around an 'all vs all' league system. Regardless of the type of tournament, the leaderboard values 1st and 2nd places only. Obviously a win is valued higher than a runner-up place, but if a player is joint on wins then second places will be taken into consideration. Likewise, if an equal number of second places is also the case then tournament participations (which are equally regarded as achievements) will be looked at.

Tournament Archives

Since our first tournament in September 2005 all our competitions have been documented. You can learn a lot about our 25+ successful tournaments (not to mention those that weren't fully completed) in our Tournament Archives.

Populous: Reincarnated Tournaments

As well [AsG] members winning the vast majority of tournaments organised for the whole community, a lot of those tournaments were hand-crafted by our own members - notably Ragnj with his 'God of..' series. You can read more about Ragnj's tournaments and other Pop:Re tournaments that our members have participated in here.
